You held me high and I let you down,
then you turned your back on me.
These faded dreams, my misery,
still you turned your back on me.
This is exactly how I pictured it.
You looking down on me for mistakes I’ve made.

This picture is painted now.
I’ve never lost hope this many times,
and you’ve been with me through it all
I can’t give up on you.
I lost myself down that dead end road,
with nowhere to turn so far away from home.
I’ll never be misled there again,
These scars of wisdom forever guide me.
And through all the darkness I found a beacon of hope.
It is my deliverer.
Now it is time,
absolve me.
I’ve left my lust, my crime, my pride.
