there are places i'll remember all my life
though some have changed
some forever, not for better
some are gone and some remain
all these places have their moments
with lovers and friends i still can recall
some are dead and some are living
in my life i've lived them all
but of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you
and these memories lose their meaning
when i think of love as something new
though i know that i'll never lose affection
for people and things that came before
i know i'll often stop and think about them
in my life i'll love you more
when i get older, losing my hair many years from now
will you still be sending me valentines
birthday greetings and bottles of wine?
when i come home at quarter to three
would you lock the door?
will you still need me, will you still feed me when i'm 64?
in my life i'll love you more
