I bussed it north from Memphis
To a land of ice and snow
Passed through some badlands
Where people don’t live no more
Call it a hellhole
Maybe the devil livin’ there
could be the reason all the people
Movin’ on away
Now I aint scared of shanty towns
And cars that rust but don’t roll
But looking out my window
