Take Me Back Home Lyrics

Miles Beyond Take Me Back Home

Set my sights upon a new world’s charm
My vision, it was clouded, saw no reason for alarm
I had made my mind up, now I could not decline
A downward sloping hill led to a place so divine
Felt I was a giant in this strange new land
I began to see my expectations were too grand
Endless faces on a street with no name
I shuffle through the crowd, avoiding their game

Take me back home
Catch me before I stumble
Freed of this cage
Where everyone’s dreams, they crumble

What started out as freedom, soon began to fade
I didn’t have much time so I ended the charade
I realize now that I set the bar too high
Nothing worth my time could be so easily denied
To see a place so cold embraced by vanity
I couldn’t justify the cause and keep my sanity
The signs were obvious. How could I’ve been so blind?
The dream is not over, just a new path I must find

Take me back home
Catch me before I stumble
Freed of this cage
Where everyone’s dreams, they crumble
