I was perched on a stool down at Riley's Bar
Watchin' a ball game on TV
It was kinda quiet for a Saturday night
And I was just getting ready to leave

It was 4 o'clock, all the doors were locked
And a blackjack game was on
My luck was pretty hot, I'd won a few pots

As he dealt me a seventeen
But the dealer showed a nine so I took my time
When he asked if I would hit or freeze
