He's the youngest kid in the neighborhood
A little face in a big old sweatshirt hood
He doesn't run or catch too good
But he keeps on trying
He's kinda short, kinda round
Other kids kinda push him around
Pulls the hood of that sweatshirt down
So they don't see him crying
He's the one when they play football
They say, "Kid, you go long"
So he runs and waves his hands
And yells, "I'm open guys, come on"
When they finally throw one to him
He trips and drops the ball
But he gets up, so strong and he hangs on
He's got that tiger inside him
He's back for more and man, he roars
As loud as thunder and lightning

He's the man of the house as it is
Trying to support a wife and kids
Gets a check and stretches it
But it won't go much farther
Yesterday he heard his boss talking
About laying a few folks off
He's gotta keep this job
But he can't work much harder
Comes home in the evening
Takes his boots off the door
Wraps his arms around the ones
He's working so hard for
Says, "Honey, don't you worry"
She says, "What would I worry for?"
