It was a mediocre algorithmic first date
Our opinions were the same enough for tea
He brought a story for me

The role he had his eye on

So I was game
As I struggled to remember his last name

It was all rivets, hinges, buckles, bolts and straps
It was heavy gilded armor
I held my breath to fit
Lovely but immobile, it pinched my skin all over
But he was nice
So I was game
It was much too small for me, but if I work at it, maybe
I stepped into his fairy tale and I acted nonchalant
Thinking "I am just the crosshairs between you and what you want"
