His daddy served our country, fought for me and you.
And he was so excited when the family got the news.
And with the others at the airport waving his little flag,
He searched through that crowd of soldiers, and when he saw his dad.
He stood there at attention, heart pounding in his chest
Tears running down his face, A feeling he'll never forget.
And with him everyone cried, as he raised his hand
And saluted with pride, to someone we know,
Our American Heroes.
On grassy field one morning, he watched'm fold the flag
While a soldier played taps, he thought back how he bragged.
Down at the barber shop and the Veterans Home,
About how his oldest boy, was fighting for us all.
He stood there at attention, heart pounding in his chest

And with him everyone cried, as he raised his hand
And saluted with pride, to someone we know,
Our American Heroes.
We see'm on TV every night, for peace on earth their willing to fight.
Always there with our flag held high, for everyone's freedom they pay the price.

And for the Stars and Stripes, we raise our hand and salute with pride
