A hundred years ago,
On my father's father's land,
A fierce battle raged,
Upon the desert sand,
Down in San Antonio,
Stands the Alamo,
Hundred and eighty-nine Texans died,
And the nation cried.
Remember the Alamo,
Someday I've got to see,
Another part of me.
San Anita was an evil man,
One of many from our past,
Where Davy Crockett and the rest,
They fought him to the last,
Spaniards tried to rule,
The land from sea to sea,
Thanks to the men who died,
It's a symbol of liberty.

Sam Houston won the war,
And the rest is history,
But let us not forget,
Those who died for you and me,
The place in San Antonio,
Was known as the Alamo,
