Jeannie got up early
while Johnny stayed in bed
She couldn't sleep last night
From something that he said
Johnnie said:"he's leavin,
Said he's never coming back again"
It was back in Franklin High School
Where he first laid eyes on her
A sassy little senior,
Jeannie gave his heart a stir
Johnnie wanted Jeannie
