It Ain't So Bad Lyrics

John Oszajca It Ain't So Bad

The real-life Robin Hood's man of discontent
He can't even sell his story, he's been proven innocent
There's a local tavern that he frequents for breakfast
He sips vodka and orange juice with two homicide detectives
Carved in a tabletop there lies a sentence
It reads, "The road to Hollywood is paved in good intentions"

This feels like one of those things
Where there's a big cloud comin'
And it's filled up with rain
And the clothes are out to dry

Kill a couple of hours walking up and down first avenue
Had a conversation with a meth-addicted prostitute
Heard her say that she admired the way he turned his back on this God of man's
He shook his head and his silence said, "Hold on to what you can"
They passed by a man who played guitar to pay the rent
He'd been there for a couple of hours but he hadn't made a cent

This feels like one of those things
Like on the first day of school
When no one knew your name
But you didn't let them see you cry

This is my life as I decree it
But, Baby, don't feel sad
This is the world as I see it
But, it ain't so bad
Our hero headed home, the sky was gettin' dark
He thought he better get indoors before the city slipped apart
Opened up the ice-box, you could smell his disease
Found himself some supper and some leftover Chinese
And a left over fortune and it's mustered covered sentence
Read, "The road to Hollywood is paved in good intentions."

This feels like one of those things
Like when you look in the mirror
But you can't escape your face
But it's all right, baby, it's all right

This is my life as I decree it
But, Baby, don't feel sad
This is the world as I see it
But, it ain't so bad
But, it ain't so bad
But, it ain't so bad
But, it ain't so bad
