John Anderson Lonely Is Another State
There's nothin' I feel stronger than the need to travel on
Never knowin' where I'm goin' or how long I'll be gone
There's no need makin' promises 'cause promises are something I can't keep
These highways are old memories I've traveled many times
And there's no destination on the road map in my mind
And somethin's always callin' me to a place I hope I'll find

Lonely is another state and I'm just passing through
Back when I was younger, I tried to settle down
I had a good job in a factory and a house outside of town
But I felt the need to be somewhere I'd never been before
And if I don't see tomorrow, I'm thankful for today
And all the things I've ever seen while travelin' on my way
Every change of time and scenery and the friends I've met along the way
