Some strange things happened I'll have you know

Some people hear my acid song
They seem to take it kinda wrong
"Yeah you're Jeff Lewis you're the guy that likes acid"
Well making druggy mentions has got me druggy
attentions
Well getting hit and getting sunk was not my intention

I played a show in Chapel Hill
Some dude dressed like a daffodil
Came backstage - "Hey you want some acid, I got some
decent acid"
I played a show in Williamsburgh some dude dressed like
a giant bird came backstage
"Yeah I got some decent acid, you're looking ?"
We got a lot of stuff to do & a long way to drive
Thank you for the offer, man. maybe some other time.

well being drunk in fun i guess, but being stoned makes
me depressed; i can't do it.
I did try ecstasy one time, & one night i drank some
codeine cough syrup
But i'm just a tender thing i can't handle too much
stress
i start to fall apart after a couple of cigarettes.

I don't like that stuff my friend & so i must decline
