My brother was a dealer
so, my mom, I couldn't heal her
and my dad, he just shook his head.
As a kid I couldn't run
and lighting up wasn't fun
so i picked up a guitar instead.
My friends grew up sideways
hidden under highways
slinging out of truck beds.
Though I'll love them for life
I wouldn't be surpirsed
if they wound up on a corner dead.

I became cunning
but I took to running
like I had a price on my head.
Cause my past was a monster
and the memory haunts
of the days I lived in the Red.
Though I was still a youngin'
I swear I saw it comin'
when my family all ripped to shreds.
