In September Lyrics

In September when the sky goes gray

And the clouds are pouring with rain

Red and yellow will fill the backyard

I'll be willing to let down my guard

And make sure you know

By January when it's freezing outside

And the leaves have all withered and died

We'll see the white frost sparkle at dawn

But just before the cold's come and gone

I'll make sure you know

In the pale light of the falling snow

I'm gonna tell you, you look beautiful

Oh...

Then in April when the first birds sing

And the sun spreads it's warmth on your skin

Just as sure as the days grow long

I promise I'll never do you wrong

I'll make sure you know

As cherry blossoms drift down through rays of gold

I'm gonna tell you, you've got me sold

I'll make sure you know
