Higher Power Burning
The eternal question in my mind
When it's burning deep inside
Sometimes it feels like the only way out
When I'm alone with my mind
Look in the mirror, dead man stares back at me
As I start to realize my own mortality
The body grows weak as the mind grows old
Hear the grave calling from the earth so cold
And it feels likes the grim reaper's walking right behind me
Everyday a roll of the dice
Land the wrong face, I'll see you on the other side
In this race for peace or death
Numb the pain and find myself again
Persistent thoughts run through my mind
Devil on my back please numb the pain
I'm just trying to find peace
As my body grows weak
From the cradle to the grave, to this inner turmoil
I'm enslaved
