Fell Far Behind The Last Time
I’ve said it before, this is the last time
Too many times before I’ve tried and never one reply
Not a single hint of one acknowledgment
And you try to act like you never knew me
As you walk right past me
And you’re with the jerk that you never liked before
What for?
For your own self and your precious reputation
Before, you wouldn’t care
But now I guess that’s what is meaningful to you
Like I said, this won’t happen again
This is my last effort, and then I swear I’ll let you be
After all there’s so much more out there to see
You’ll see…
That I can make this on my own
I’ll remove myself from this chair by the phone
And no longer will I wonder why you said those things
It was for your own self and your precious reputation
Before, you wouldn’t care
But now I guess that’s what is meaningful to you
And I’m thinking enough is enough today
And I’m thinking tomorrows another day
And enough is enough anyway
This is the last time that I try
That I hope, and wait for you
