I open up my mouth to speak
you paint the picture of my tongue
I choke until I bleed
I open up my eyes to see
you mask my face to see the tears
I sob until I sleep
This masterpiece has been
covered up with paint
so thick that you can't see
the mess you've made
So here I stand
paralyzed by the cast
you've chiseled away around me
I open up my my hands to feel
you break each finger and each wrist
but broken arms can't hold
I open up my heart to heal
you take your brush and paint it green
A jealous heart can't beat
This masterpiece has been
covered up with paint
so thick that you can't see
the mess you've made
