Never thought I'd have to get close to anyone

It was always easy how I had it

How I feel about that
On one hand it's great to have someone
And on the other it scares me to death

It's tough to trust and forgive anyone
Hard to believe they won't deceive you
Because everyones had experience in that
A sacrifice and you're rewarded
But then what happens if it fails?
And everything just falls apart
I guess you take some of it with you
Somethings that never leave you
But our memories are no use to me
Still don't think I could forgive myself
For not going through with this
