Emo Side Project Daffodils
I put a daffodil into your hair
And you smiled so soft in the gleaming sun
But you took it out when I turned away
I still try to imagine your face as it was
Only two years ago when our love wasn't these songs.
And I want to paint the past into my present brain
With the brushes you used to construct those beautiful
things
And sometimes I'm still in reverie when
I think about how I used to be able to sleep.
And I reconstruct the laws of gravity,
So I hold my breath for three whole years.
