I can feel the heat closing in
Steaming down like a heavy machine
Waking me up I feel them gazing in
See them march down the iron stairs
Deep shadows filling up my hands
Setting me up to be their devil doll
In the lights of the deadly gun
They can't undo what came undone

In disappointment and betrayal
Nobody knows about the harm they've done
I escaped from a heart of stone

In the crack of a desert road

Overlooked and belittled so long ago
Too long hanging round

They sob and smile
