Donny Goines Play Out In The Rain
[Verse:]
It's funny how best friends become distant strangers
I can remember when we all were twisting J's up
Right on the park bench, we'd make confrence
And talk the about girls and other typical nonsence
3 card pitty pat and dice
Bottles of E&J a big bag of ice
We all fought in the day then laugh at night
Was all love even when we had ta fight
Growing up in my nieghborhood I wish a hater would
Yeah we fight each other but ganged up for greater good
Our block, some selling that hard rock
While the others looked out for the boys in cars parked
Hookie partys when mommas at work
Ran a couple trains, on some pre madonnas in shirts
Couldn't the afford chronic, so the ghanja was dirt
And we taught each other things cause our fathers would merk
Shoplifting, in the spot pitching
All so hard headed, we would not listen
Not different
From any other child
But actions like this won't make our mothers proud
And who cared, we just wanted new pairs
Of those those Nike uptowns, start the school year
My adolecence had it's lessons I learned
But at the end of the day I won't mention a word
Bout the crimes we commited, guys who were convicted,
I can't get specific, if you just listen
I'm sure you can fill the blanks
In life sometimes you gotta deal with mistakes
Yeah we had Good times like Florida and Jay Jay
And bad times when the corenors engraved names
But that's life, hangovers from last night
Then we back at it next day you heard me, that's right
This was my childhood, living in a wild hood
So use to it, know you probably thinking how could
He manage, he's damaged for sure
But my friends helped me get through it, that's what friends for
Now I only see them when I remenisce
It's funny looking back, I thought we'd never get
'To a point where were at now cause it's never been
But sitting here thinking back, I rememeber when
