Dirty On Purpose Audience
You were full of liquor and lines and you said it was
serious -- you could not see straight and you thought the
audience in the room was the same. On a perfect day for a
cigarette (not quite winter yet) you're an easy mark to
disappear. Oh skinny, you're sleeping in your car!
You fake a smile -- the lights are so bright they're
blinding you. You close your eyes (like there's something
to see inside of you). Words fail tonight -- you can't
get your jaw to cooperate. You change your mind.
We bought every record in the dollar bin; every single
one of them was a frozen cry. We sat and watched the city
go to sleep every night. There will be big blue pools for
swimming in and swings for sitting in -- we'll get off
the grid. We'll drift like continents. We'll never be
missed.
