Dada Separate Ways
Together every day, had so much to say,
doing anything we felt at all,
Never time enough – seems like only yesterday.
Our conscience was our guide, standing side by side,
fighting for the things we thought were right.
Never time to rest – seems like only yesterday.
As time went on we grew in different ways,
no longer caring what the other had to say.
Well, I should have known you were fading
when you voted for Ronald Reagan, far, far away.
But today's another day,
and we go our separate ways, far, far away.
Together every day,

Laughing at the things, we used to share a secret for,
with one look we always knew each other's thoughts.
Between the two of us, it seemed nothing could interfere,
the special times we had, no one could ever take away.
Now it seems as if we've slowly drifted apart – nothing on the way!
