If I went back,
Then I could see where I went wrong,
With hindsight, see so many things,
Held secret for so long.
But it's too late.
That ship has long set sail,
Right past the point of no return,
That bridge is crossed, now let it burn,
In time, I think I'll see the reason why,
I force my self to understand,
Or force my self to try.
The have been better days,
There have been better days than these,
If all we feel is meaningless,
It makes no sense to me,
The nights grow cold,
and I grow just the same,
All still I stare at the lonely sky,
remembering your name,
Like the cruel compassion,
Of sharpened steel,
What burns inside will cauterise,
and force these wounds to heal,
In time, I think I'll see the reason why,
I force my self to understand,
Or force my self to try.
