A soul of pure mechanics
A sentinel to this edge
Battle bruised and filled with holes
Last living to protect
Burning chrome and steel becomes
something more alive
that to destruction so consigned
believing will survive
Look up now child
To the sky
And hear the titans'
Fearless cry
For you, these mortals
Now become
An offering to life
And all the men
Who will not die
Even though
They give these lives
Return to us
And in our hearts and minds
As heroes will survive
Engines burn in glowing rage
High above the clouds
Where bullets reign
And metal bleeds
As smoke comes streaking out
Now limping back sad victory
Its wings are losing flight
And down it goes
This fireball
It's etched into my mind
