i reached a new height on the sympathy scale

you were suddenly aware of

you can talk about the missiveness and wanting to be

well that sounds really nice
but can't you spare a thought for me
cause all these words inside
can hide this feeling up the trail
and the only thing i've got to give is this apology

who can you blame when the damage is done?
nothing has changed we're back at square one
and pretending to be having the time of our lives
when nothing much more than ex husbands and wives
we're trying to turn the clocks back
to find the missing piece
but everytime we smile
