Clouds Over Normandy Riddle

"Go now and never come back"
Said Reason to Greed

And Reason took the path of righteousness and sanity
Whilst Greed kept on crawling behind men
Down the mountain and into the valley
Lost sights and sounds are found
Deep in the woods, beyond the marsh
Among the shadows fate is bound

But Reason was fragile under Greed's tenacity
And soon graciousness fell into oblivion
As selfishness persevered
And the gentle melodies of the homeland
Were quickly subdued and forsaken

"So beautiful, so bright... I would give anything
My precious love, gone!"

Reason lost the way
Blinded by the flashing lights of power
And defeaned by the siren songs of success
But there was Greed to reach out its hand
And guide Reason through the woods and beyond the marsh
Never to return
