How many times I've wondered
How there can be so much pain
Looking at all my troubles
My struggles seemed in vain
I asked myself is the life I live
Is the pain really worth the gain
And is the light at the end of my tunnel
Just an oncoming train
Knowing His love for me
I can face tomorrow
Knowing His power, His grace
His care, I can carry on
I'll keep on keeping on till the end
Knowing that someday we win
Life is worth the living
Simply knowing Him
I dreamed I had a second chance
That I could pick the cross I bear
Big ones, small ones, all sizes and shapes
And ones of a kind so rare
I selected an easy one
Hoping I didn't choose wrong
Then I heard a voice clearly say
"That's the one you've had all along"
Knowing His love for me
I can face tomorrow
Knowing His power, His grace
His care, I can carry on

I've often wished I could trade places
With somebody else
Then realizing later on
I'm better off to just be myself
But Jesus traded places with me
Took my place on the tree
Now my life I live in Christ
And now I'm proud to be just me
