Nothing in this world compares to the feel
Of varnished wood and springy steel
Goodness gracious, I've such a desire
To coast downhill on my Flexible Flyer
The air is crisp and the snow is dry
Past snow-covered trees and fences I'll fly
I'm getting momentum and picking up speed
A Flexible Flyer's a flyer indeed
Grease those rails with a block of wax
Leave a pair of trails like railroad tracks
My runners are sharp, so listen to me
Stay out of my path, or I'll cut you in three
Pile those kids into that old sleigh
Push 'em down the hill and send them on their way
Sledding downhill on a rocking horse
Rocking chairs slalom down an obstacle course
Lampposts will be lighting soon
Nighttime falls in the afternoon
Happy and weary, time to retire
And trudge home dragging my Flexible Flyer
