I'm getting wasted doing nothing
My mind is drifting far away
I hocked my guitar for a dozen dollar bills
I wish that there was some other way
I play my songs in a bar down on Main Street
Only one I know of for miles around
And people get to drinking and they fall asleep
And the owner says to move on to some other town
So, I just get my guitar and run
Until I can find someone to make music
I met a girl who works in a drug store
Got sky-blue eyes like you've never seen
I think I'm gonna grab her and walk on out the door
I'm gonna make some music that's just so darn mean
