A girl biting her nails held out
Sky-blue paints to me
When you mixed red and yellow to make orange,
You smiled proudly
That naïvete made me smile too
I followed your example of how to paint those dreams
What of the bruises on your arms and neck and…?
What about theway you’re crying in the painting?
You quietly smile "bye-bye";
What could’ve been hiding on the flipside of that smile?
Are your unhealed wounds spreading each day?
Did you smile ‘cause you’re too young to regret that grief?
With the sky-blue paints you gave me
I’m gonna paint a dream, so I can get stronger
I'll try to paint a dream where I can
Smear out and end this world’s darkness
Beautiful flowers don't bloom near true love
A light passing through the pain
Coils straight around the heart’s wrinkles, heals it, and blooms
Imagine all of that.
Jealousy with nowhere to put it; passing by it day after day
People who inject anesthesia in a darkness called solitude
Resisting it are the people who accept feelings as their own
Yeah, ‘to each his own’... there's no answer
I'm just running through the darkness now
No matter how much pain that may cause me,
‘Cause there are words I want to finish singing...
What kind of wind do you walk through?
What are you crying for? Who are you laughing with? What did you dream about?
If you’re carrying that pain and joy and loneliness alone, you should be able to share this night
Pain is shaking inside the heart, is it okay to sob?
Believing that in this wind, tears will keep drying
I won't avert my eyes!
Even if I look down, I won't turn around!
I won't regret doing what I should anymore; I know that!
I'll catch the sunlight with both my hands
Even holding despair in my arms, so I can be strong
I'll give my sadness over to the passing wind
It’s okay to start walking again, facing tomorrow
