A Rose Lyrics

Angus Danu A Rose

Walking down the sidewalk singing to myself when I saw her again and I had to follow
She was the most beautiful flower I’d ever seen it was getting hard to swallow, when she turned and said

You can follow me home, only to watch my door close
Or you can walk beside me, I’ll let you buy me a rose
And I might tell you my name

I took my chance I wanted to dance but played it cool I could feel the sun
Introduced myself, stopped at the first flower stand, gave her that rose, I gave her a dozen
And she told me her name

I could have followed her home, only to watch her door close
But I walked beside her, and bought her a rose
She looked at me tears flowed lightly her heart was open
Laid her head against my shoulder there we stood, nothing else was spoken
And we fell in love

I never will forget that day my whole life changed a smile touched her face her hand in mine
Half carried her up to her floor, she invited me in, I closed the door behind
I could have followed her home only to watch her door close
But I walked beside her, and bought her a rose
And we fell in love
