Long Ago
The dragons soared above the land
They filled the sky, they breathed fire
But they knew my name
They knew my crime, my past
And they discovered who I was
Who - I am
The creatures soared, they used to fly
Their beauty filled the sky, but no longer
I saw them fall before my eyes
And left my world – torn asunder
I fought the dragons then to see
My mortal enemies, we were strangers
And now they’re gone, but I’m not free
‘Cuz still they haunt, my life’s in danger
Thinkin’ I could end – my demons
Hopin’ to defend – my feelings
And they roam again – to end my lies
I draw my sword to slay them
By my own hand betray them
Must I confess I brought them down

And from my life’s inception
I heard them cry “deception”
I tore them from the burning sky
And now they’re gone
My claim, my shame
The challenge of my name
I’ve torn, my life
The battle’s now arrived
Two worlds, one soul
My struggle to be whole
But now, it’s lost
For that I’ll pay the cost
I fall apart when I look back
Can’t come to terms with these rebellious actions
I can’t recall why I attacked
Why I believed in phony factions
Sins of omission fill my head
Crimes of my mind resound – Crimes perfected
And now I’m held to all I said
And chained for all I neglected
Honor of my name – defying
Courage lost in shame – from lying
Can my truth be claimed – from all my crimes
I raise my shield to hide them
By my own words defy them
Must I admit I crushed them all

Amid their tears and cryin’
I bound their wings from flyin’
I tore them from the burning sky
And now they’re gone
Could I, be one?
Am I a Dragon son?
It’s all, revealed
My destiny is sealed
The things I’ve done
Won’t change what I’ve become
I am, my foe
A world that I can’t show

Feeling so lost now that I’m found
Creatures risin’ within (They bring the truth now)
My past visions begin (They’re absolute now)
Searching inside I am bound (Bound to the same thing)
