Fontaines D.C. are playing a benefit for CALM in London on October 15. It is a Thursday night at the Roundhouse, a day before Dopamine Chamber's release. Campaign Against Living Miserably will receive the net proceeds. Tickets are going through a ballot, and the deadline to enter was this afternoon. If you registered, Monday is when you'll find out about the chance to buy.

There is plenty of older music to return to ahead of it. Dogrel came out in 2019; A Hero's Death followed in 2020. Skinty Fia and Romance arrived in 2022 and 2024. Four albums in six years, then another in 2026: it is a busy catalogue to draw from for a benefit show. The venue hasn't promised a performance of the complete new album. We wouldn't read the release date as a setlist.

Can I still join the ballot?

The announced deadline was today, October 10, at 3pm BST. It has passed by the time of this evening's article. Fans were asked to register for a random draw. Having registered for an earlier Fontaines D.C. concert didn't carry an entry over: you needed to register again, though the venue said you could skip another text verification. For this show, the useful next information is for people who entered before the deadline.

I entered. What happens on Monday?

Look for a code by midday on October 12; the sale opens at 2pm. Those are London times. The code lets selected fans join the sale, but the Roundhouse says it doesn't guarantee a ticket. So there are really two hurdles left: being selected, then completing a purchase. We'd wait for the booking before arranging a trip. There isn't a confirmed place waiting for everybody who entered.

Where does the ticket money go?

CALM will receive net proceeds. We wouldn't replace that with “all ticket money”: the two phrases don't say the same thing. The announcement gives no fundraising total. What it does explain is the reason for the draw. The organisers want the tickets to reach fans, and the proceeds to stay with the charity rather than resellers. It is worth keeping those details together when talking about the benefit.

A benefit doesn't always work this way. Turnstile's free Washington Monument benefit, which we covered this week, has a separate donation campaign. Fontaines D.C. are using a paid ticket here. The cause may be the reason you want to go, but you still need to get through the draw and sale. For anyone following both concerts, that practical difference is more useful than treating them as the same kind of fundraiser.

Three days separate Monday's ticket sale from the concert. The album follows on Friday. With four earlier records to choose from, there is no need to assume a full preview of Dopamine Chamber on Thursday. It could be a very different set; the band haven't announced one. For now, the charity, the venue and the dates are the things fans can plan around.
