Someone'll always be betterHe's never good enough in his
fathers eyes
So now he despises every value system taught.
A re-run of rejection (this program's getting old)
As the anger builds and his life long yield-
Of disapprovment takes its toll.
Slow down boy- it's easier
Dissolve the problem don't try to run away
Is it the easiest thing to be here for a while?
Or is it just easier to say?
I remember a time when things were looking up
With a change of mind, and new love resigning-
Memories still actualised
But the pains of belonging never carried term
And the faith lit fuse in what ever's new-
Burns ever brighter, ever close.
I know that part of us is strong enough to carry
vengeance on
It's a final plea for justice to be done
But the truth is, it's easier to give the pride away
Then with the burden gone- in forgiveness carry on.
