I sit alone
In a darkened room
Surrounded by these, my friends
Reflect upon
The day gone past
Though this is far from the end
I watch your face
As shadows dance
And come to know you more
Knowing that in silence we’ve broken walls
By twilight
By candlelight
In silence
We discern
An epilogue
To a busy day in the light
I woke up this morning
And I knew I’d have to say goodbye
Put it from my mind
I ate my breakfast with my thoughts on other things
And then it hit me a second time
But I’m not ready yet to admit that it’s time
I can’t face the long goodbye

And I hope we’ll still be friends
